The defining moments in my life have taught me invaluable lessons, strengthened my character and formed the foundation on which I have built my life and business. With integrity, care and skill, I strive to have a positive impact on the lives of others!
Everything changed when I was laid off from my office job after five years of seeking the stability I thought it would provide. Throughout the 2008 financial crisis, I witnessed mass layoffs, seeing many face the reality I now did. Suddenly, I realized that no job could offer true security. I was ready to finally step into entrepreneurship, something I had long dreamed about.
Raised as the eleventh of thirteen children, I quickly learned the importance of seizing opportunities and working hard for the things I wanted. As a young adult, I embarked on a two-year mission trip to Paraguay—it was a humbling experience, a true test of my independence and resilience.
Living in a foreign country, learning a new language and working alongside others from different backgrounds with a shared goal of service taught me the importance of hard work, setting goals and, most importantly, the ability to adapt, learn and grow. These lessons were my first real steps toward personal and professional growth. I was put to the ultimate test and found I didn’t crack under the pressure, but thrived, learning more about myself and what I needed to do to be successful.
Returning from my mission, I was determined to find a career that offered both stability and independence. I sought the predictability of an office job, wanting a regular paycheck and the perks that came with it. However, after five years in the role, getting laid off abruptly halted this path, prompting a significant career reevaluation. This setback reminded me of the many challenges I faced during my mission trip. What got me through that experience was my mindset and determination. The one thing I could always rely on was my own drive and work ethic.
My father, a seasoned real estate broker and owner of his CPA office, had often shared insights into the market, sparking my interest in real estate from a young age. I also witnessed the peaks and valleys of being an entrepreneur, which had originally deterred me. But after being laid off, I realized the stability I thought I had wasn’t real. I was ready to take control of my life, forge my own path and be of service to others.
In 2012, I embraced entrepreneurship—the transition wasn't easy; the first few months were full of challenges and uncertainties. Yet, these difficulties were not insurmountable. My background prepared me to face and overcome obstacles. It took five months to close my first deal, but by year's end, I had matched my previous salary, affirming my decision to believe in myself and my abilities.
Through real estate, I made it my mission to maintain strong, genuine relationships with my clients, treating them as family, which set me apart in a competitive industry. This approach has led to many 5-star reviews and being recognized as Top 40 Under 40 for six consecutive years. These reflect the quality of service I deliver to a high quantity of clients. I’m proud of my industry reputation and the fulfilling career I have helping others achieve their homeownership goals.
Through all these experiences, I've learned that life doesn't offer guarantees, but it does offer opportunities to rise above challenges and redefine oneself. Everything I do is motivated by my daughter, Blake, and son, Beau. I want to provide them with the best life possible, and real estate has been a means to do just that while allowing me the flexibility to be very involved in their lives.
As a single father, I feel very fortunate to have a strong support system in my friends and family. In this new chapter, I am focused on being my best self and using what I have to offer the world to help others. I have prioritized the things that make me happy: being with my kids, working out, paddleboarding, hiking, and establishing and maintaining relationships with the many amazing people in my life!
